Frequently Asked Questions
What services does Indiana BAC Search offer?
BAC Search is a simple directory that allows property sellers to communicate BAC offers publicly and allows property buyers search offers sellers are making.
Why would sellers post here?
A seller who posts an offer helps drive buyers to the property. If a seller is offering to pay the buyer’s agent’s compensation, that’s a very valuable piece of information for a buyer to know when considering properties.
Why is this site necessary?
A federal case brought in Missouri was settled by the National Association of Realtors (NAR). As part of this settlement, real estate agents are no longer allowed to provide BAC information to the MLS. Additionally, MLS was defined broadly and could include any aggregator of the data, even this website regardless of the fact that it is not affiliated with any real estate agency or the NAR. (Nothing on this website should be construed as legal advice – just giving you the best summary we can of what we found on the internet. Always speak to an attorney for legal advice.)
So my agent can’t post for me?
The short answer is probably not. We can’t give you legal advice. We are not attorneys. Here is a link to the information available on the NAR website.
